Craig,I received my Peerless transaxle today and
wanted to again express my sincere appreciation for your exceptional
customer service and help. You were the only vendor that I e-mailed
or called that took the extra effort to verify that this transaxle
would actually match the one I was replacing. Even though you were
in a terribly busy time, you took the extra time to reply to my
e-mail and let me know you had received it and would physically
check as soon as you could.
Then, the next evening, you called me at home later in the
evening after everyone else has forgotten work and gone home for the
day to let me know you had looked at the physical transaxle and
confirmed the input location. I haven't run into that kind of
concern and service since I lived back home in Arkansas and was
dealing with honest, straight-forward small town folks.
After that call, I ordered on line that night. The service
continued when I received a shipping notice and a link to track the
status and when to expect it. Delivery was quick and right on time.
Packaging was great to prevent any shipping damage.
What more can you ask for? Some people are a little concerned and
hesitant to order over the internet, but I've found that most
vendors on line are very dependable and just trying to expand their
customer base. (How many transaxles can you sell in Lees Summit,
Mo.?)
Tecumseh (Peerless) and their major distributor (who their voice
mail system forwards tech questions to) should really learn a
lot from folks like you. Old fashioned concern and willingness to
help a customer to the max are what build trust and confidence!
Again, you have my utmost appreciation, trust and confidence and
my best wishes for a very successful business future. May the
internet be kind to you!
If you would like to use these comments in whole or in part in
any of your advertising or your web site, you have my total
permission.

For further information for any future customers, I have
explained my problem even further below.
After numerous telephone calls to Tecumseh (Peerless) and to
their primary distributor, no one could verify whether this model
transaxle (mine was 915-032 which was superceded with the model
#915-032A) had the input shaft in the normal 'A' or the optional 'B'
position. Although two raised areas for the input shaft are molded
into the upper case, either could be drilled and finished at at the
factory depending on the complete model number.
Common sense (which big companies seem to be lacking in),
concerned me since it made sense to me that adding the A on the end
of the part number would seem to indicate the input shaft in the 'A'
position. Not so, as I finally found out, thanks to you.
All of the Tecumseh (Peerless) exploded parts diagrams and photos
show the generic 915 series transaxle with the shaft in the 'A'
position. I had a hard time accepting that "oh, yeah, the part
number means it will work" without being able to get confirmation
that the input shaft was in the 'B' position.
My input shaft was in the 'B' position. If these positions are
interchanged, it would result in 1 forward speed and 5 reverse
speeds. My wife can't twist her head and keep up mowing that fast in
reverse.
