Why don't you show a phone number on the site?

A

Most questions have to be looked up to answer and sometimes additional information is required. It's almost impossible to do this over the phone in a timely manner. The best way to get a question answered is to fill out our Engine Inquiry Form.

We have also, in the past, had problems with people ordering the wrong item and in an effort to not pay re-stocking charges we've had them tell us "somebody told us..."  The worst of these said incidents happened with 3 Honda 13 HP vertical engines that for some DUMB reason the customer thought were propane engines (we sell nothing but gas engines and the description on this product says it has a "Gas Tank included")  After we received 3 oil stained boxes back we decided it would be best to have everything in writing. We may give our phone number after initial contact to speed up the process or for ordering purposes, but initial contact will always be via email, in writing.

Q

My item arrived defective; what do I need to do for a replacement?

A

All items come with a manufacturer warranty.  If the item you ordered is defective please follow instructions on your warranty documentation that came with your item.  You will need to show proof of purchase for your item for the warranty to be valid.  If you need a sales receipt, and either did not get one or have lost the original please email us at sales@Smallenginesuppliers.com and we will be happy to send you one. Occasionally, through factory defects an engine may arrive with a defective part (we've had trouble with intake pipes on HM80's), in this case we will send a replacement part. 

Please do not ship defective items back to Smallenginesuppliers.com unless you have prior approval to do so.

How long do I have to pay for an item?

A

You will have seven days from the close of the auction to pay for your item. You can expect your "Invitation to Checkout" e-mail within 3 hours of the auction close. Sorry, but after seven days, we will have to resell your item to the next interested buyer, so please check your e-mail as soon as you can after the auction closes.

Smallenginesuppliers.com accepts United States bank issued Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards & e-Checks through PayPal.  Certified checks, and Money Orders are also accepted. We accept VISA, MasterCard & Discover through our credit card processing form. We DO NOT Personal Checks or International credit cards.

Can I get a printed receipt for my credit card payment?

Smallenginesuppliers.com sends transaction receipt information to you automatically, via e-mail.   If you wish to have a formal invoice, please email us and we would be happy to send you one.

What if I don't agree with the billing charges?

A

Our checkout system has been thoroughly tested to charge the exact amount stated during the checkout process. If you believe we have charged you the wrong amount, please double-check the auction close data and our order confirmation data. I purchased a few items from you during the same timeframe. Can you ship them together/combine shipping?

A

Currently we are unable to accommodate this request in an automated fashion.  Although if you contact us directly at customer_service@Smallenginesuppliers.com before you checkout, we can let you know if it is possible for your items to ship together and if so, a representative will issue a combined shipping quote and will revise your checkout or create a new checkout for you to pay from.  Please note that we can NOT accommodate refunds or make any changes after you have paid so please contact us prior to completing your checkout.  No exceptions.  

*When emailing for a combined shipping quote, please provide us with the following:

  • The titles of the items you bought
  • The ship to zip code
  • Your Name, Address, Phone Number & Email Address

Do you charge sales tax?

A

State laws require that internet retailers collect sales tax in states where they have a physical presence. Smallenginesuppliers.com is currently based in the state of Missouri. Subsequently we are required to charge applicable taxes that state.

Can I cancel an order?

A

Orders cannot be cancelled once the checkout process has been completed. Due to our commitment to process orders quickly, once the checkout process is completed we immediately begin to process your order and file for a shipment with UPS or FedEx.  We regret any inconvenience that this may cause you.

Are credit card transactions on Smallenginesuppliers.com safe/secure?

Absolutely! In fact, it's statistically safer to use your credit card over the Internet than in a restaurant or department store. Smallenginesuppliers.com servers use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), an encryption technology that works with Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and AOL's browser, so that only Smallenginesuppliers.com can read a customer's personal information. Also, since we use Paypal for credit card payments, we never actually have the credit card number. A second level of safety. Our credit card processing gateway is SSL encrypted and takes you to our Merchant Banks processing center. (We never have your full credit card info, only the last 4 digits)

I just completed checkout, when will my item ship, and how long will it take to reach me?

A

Your order will ship within 1-2 business days after you have completed payment.  (business days are Monday- Friday) 

Transit time will vary depending on your location.  Most orders ship from the Midwest (Missouri & Oklahoma).  By tracking your order, UPS/Fedex will issue a tentative delivery date. Normally our items arrive within 3-5 days of shipment.

What carrier do your use?

A

We use UPS, primarily, we also use FedEx and under special circumstances we may also use USPS. Please see our Shipping Policies page for engines over 90 lbs.

Q

Will I get a tracking number?

A

Yes.  You will get an automated email with your tracking number when your item is being prepared for shipment.  *Note that you may need to wait up to 36 hours before your item shows an "in transit" status when checking the status of your shipment on UPS.com or FedEx.com. 

If you do not receive a tracking number within 3 business days (Mon-Fri) after payment, please email us with the following information at sales@Smallenginesuppliers.com and we will get your tracking number to you.

Is insurance a good idea?

A

Insuring your purchase is a wise decision.  Smallenginesuppliers.com insures all of our shipments so you do not have to worry about it.

Can you expedite my order rather than shipping it ground?

A

Yes.  Please email us for a quote and we will be happy to expedite your order to you if you agree to the extra shipping fees associated with expediting an order. Most of the time it's not worth it though because the extra charges are cost prohibitive.

I have a UPS or a FedEx account number, can I give that to you for shipping?

A

Sorry but no.  Our Fedex/UPS integration won't allow for changing the account number.  We sometimes ship with FedEx, but normally hand deliver them. Changing FedEx numbers would be a huge pain in those situations.

Can I request another carrier?

A

Sometimes this is possible. You will need to make your request BEFORE SHIPMENT to customer_service@Smallenginesuppliers.com. Please note that this may result in a higher shipping charge and is not always available.
